Affordable Housing

CICADA worked with Innova Redevelopment, LLC on this scattered site development of ten new single-family, affordable homes in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia. This neighborhood stabilization project infills vacant lots on otherwise intact blocks with quality housing that is affordable. The homes are built in a traditional row house style, embracing both traditional and modern, varying two or three stories dependent on the block context. Energy efficient building materials and techniques were used throughout. Each home invites the greenery of an urban setting with roof deck access at either the front or rear, and large sliding glass doors leading out to the rear garden. The homes feature an ADA compliant bedroom and bathroom on the first floor for accessibility. The visitable homes feature a zero-step entrance, a door clearance of 32 inches, and a main floor bathroom with wheelchair accessibility.
